Who We Are
The Old Tappan Youth Council (OTYC) was founded in 2023 to remedy the lack of youth representation in local government and decision-making. We stand as an official branch of the Old Tappan Borough Council, comprising 8th -12th graders residing in Old Tappan or attending Northern Valley Regional High School at Old Tappan.
The OTYC is committed to representing the youth voice and fostering future leaders, all while improving Old Tappan and its surrounding towns through volunteerism and community engagement. Working with the Old Tappan Borough Council, Board of Education, and volunteer organizations, we seek to bridge the gap between generations and ultimately create a community where everyone is recognized, every voice is heard, and every idea valued.
